Hello,
I hope you're doing well! As some of you may know, I'll be serving on a short-term mission trip this summer.
I am writing to share what God has been doing in my life over the past year and how He has been expanding my desire to serve His Kingdom. At the end of 2025, I realized that my relationship with God had not grown since my confirmation in July. In many ways, it had begun to deteriorate as I turned to material comforts and instant gratification to cope with the stresses of school and uncertainty about my future career, rather than depending on God for diligence, peace, and direction.
Looking back, I believe God knew I would need an opportunity to return to Him wholeheartedly, and He had already been arranging my circumstances in a way that allowed me to attend the Urbana 2025 Missions Conference. Throughout the conference, I sensed God reaching for me again and teaching me, through the speakers and teachers, how to 1. Surrender my anxieties to Him 2. Recognize His heart for justice and all nations, and 3. Be present for His work in the world. By the end of the conference, God had placed on my heart the word Hineni, meaning “Here I am.” I felt called to respond to Him with a willingness to be available wherever He might lead and to grow closer to Him by participating in the mission Jesus calls all believers to share.
Shortly afterward, I decided to take a semester away from school, which has since become a gap year. During this time, I committed to pursuing at least one short-term mission opportunity as a way of living out that calling and taking a step forward in faith.
My church, Harvest Church, partners with our House Church missionaries Janel & Mike R. in many ways, including prayer, financial giving, encouragement, and by sending short-term missions trips. This summer, I will be going to Indonesia, from August 9-20, to assist and support our missionaries and the J. Language Team through seminars, scripture competitions, and fellowship. We have been told that our short time there can encourage the long-term missionaries and local ministries so much that it empowers them for the rest of the year. This is our hope and prayer. Our partners in Indonesia have often told us how encouraging and refreshing it has been to serve alongside our short-term teams.
Will you consider partnering with me in prayer as God leads you? We are responsible for our vaccinations, airfare, and all in-country expenses. All contributions are tax-deductible, and you can easily give through my church’s online portal at www.donate.harvestchurchorlando.org. There is a link that will take you to our Missions 2026 page. If you scroll down, you will see my name on the right side. You can also write a check payable to “Harvest Church” and mail it to Harvest Church Missions, 16796 E. Davenport Road, Winter Garden, FL 34787. Regardless of whether you can give financially or not, I would deeply appreciate your prayers for me, our team, and our partners in Indonesia
More than anything, though, I would be grateful for your prayers
as our team prepares and serves. Some specific prayer requests
include:
1. Good health and safety during travel 2. God's provision for
our anxieties and worries, and 3. Protection/strength from
spiritual warfare
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for partnering with me in whatever way you can.
With gratitude,
Charlize (Alex) Lee
